ROMAC's Gala 20th Anniversary Dinner - Friday, August 29
ROMAC has come a long way from its beginning of one single Fijian patient. In the Rotary year 2007-08 35 patients were treated successfully in hospitals throughout Australia and New Zealand and in its 20 years over 300 patients in total have been the beneficiary of ROMAC treatment.
ROMAC could not have performed this valuable humanitarian service without the assistance of our wonderful surgeons who provide their services at no cost.
Our celebratory dinner at Moonee Valley Racecourse function centre on Friday August 29 will feature Dr Ric Christie, the ROMAC Board's medical director, as the keynote speaker. Ric will review the past history of ROMAC and will comment on current-day issues. Supporting Ric will be Kathy Walker, noted education consultant in regard to early childhood and primary education.
VIPs in attendance will include ROMAC patron, Max Walker, and the Governor of Victoria, Professor David de Kretser along with leading Rotarian dignitaries from Victorian Rotary districts. We will also have world renowned pianist, Alan Kogosowski, to entertain us.
